On April 25, all Australians pay tribute to all military personnel who participated in the campaign that took place on the Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey, in World War I on April 25, 1915.
11 November - Remembrance Day
World War I ended at 11 am on 11 November 1918 with the victory of the Allies. This is the day when people can pay tribute to all those who died during the hostilities.
25 December - Christmas Day
Many Christians in Australia and around the world celebrate Christmas as a day of Jesus Christ's birth, Various church services are held on this day throughout Australia.
31 December - New Year
New Year's Eve marks the end of the old year and the start of a new year. According to the Gregorian calendar introduced by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582, a new year starts on 1 January.
