23 April - World Book Day
World Book Day (also known as World Book and Copyright Day) was established in 1995 by UNESCO to promote the value of reading, the importance of copyright and to highlight the various issues in a relation of publishing.
12 August - International Youth Day
International Youth Day was created by the United Nations to raise awareness about youth issues worldwide. This holiday contributes to an understanding of the problems and finding the solutions.
8 September - International Literacy Day
International Literacy Day was created in 1966 by UNESCO, at the 14th session of the General Conference to draw attention to the issues of literacy in our society.
5 October - World Teachers' Day
World Teachers' Day was established in 1994 after UNESCO Recommendation about the Status of Teachers. This day was created to reflect teachers' significant contributions and to recognise their role in our society.
15 October - World Students' Day
World Students' Day was declared by UNESCO in 2010, in Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's Birthday, who was the 11th President of India and a scientist of global reputation in the area of physics & aerospace engineering.
3rd Thursday of November - World Philosophy Day
World Philosophy Day was established in 2002 by UNESCO to raise interest in international culture, philosophy and diversity. UNESCO highlights the importance of philosophical heritage worldwide.
